Long time no post...

Okay, so it's been ages since I've posted anything on here.  I'm currently having my head tortured for fashion, but hey, it's all good in the end, right?  Haha...  Wow, I definitely don't have anything to write about.  Or too much to write about, really.  Alright then, that's it for now I guess.  :)

A bit bored today, mom's in Nanhai for a few days, she'll get back tomorrow afternoon, so I've been on my own.  Not much has been going on lately, school started up again and is very school-like.  Not great, but okay.  There's gonna be a big party tomorrow night, should be fun.  Then I'll go roller skating with my friends on Saturday and we'll go shopping in Shanghai on Sunday.  Probably hang out with mom a bit when she gets back.  Nothing too exciting, except for the party.  :)  That's all for now, just felt like writing something.

Funny, as soon as I say, "Oh yeah, I've been writing on this other blog really often, I'll post it here too." I stop writing on the other blog.  It's a curse!  Haha, oh well.  So I just got back from this trip and I wrote a bunch of stuff, so here it is:

(This part is just me talking about the icky trip, skip it if you want.)

Mini-trip

Well... My mom and I just got back from a traumatizing trip. We were invited to spend a "traditional Chinese New Year" with one of my mom's co-workers. Not a good thing. The main probloem was the food, as well as the physical discomfort. There was at least one dish a day that completely shocked us. On Saturday it was frog soup with whole frogs floating in it. On Sunday it was turtle soup with a whole turtle in it, and we tried really hard not to watch as one of the family members actually sucked bits off of the shell. TT__TT Waaah! Poor turtle! Then on Monday, it was a plate of whole fried sparrows. Little dead birds on a plate! Heads and all! TT___TT Sooo bad! I ate almost nothing every single day, because there was nothing I could eat... KFC actually saved my poor starving self... We managed to get in two meals at KFC, the only time I ate more than two bites of something. Thank god for KFC... Other than that, the trip was just not what we expected. We thought we were going to be watching cool and exciting cultural performances and seeing a huge ceramics market we had heard about. But no. Instead, we sat around on really hard wooden benches in a freezing cold house that barely had electricity watching the co-worker's family eat gross food, yell at each other, and play mahjong (ma jiang). Not fun. Mom even had a few suggestions for the co-worker of things we might like to do, and asked her about them. No effect. So we basically hung out with the co-worker and her family for three awful, starving, freezing, uncomfortable days. And that was our Chinese New Year. Which totally sucks because if we had been left to our own devices we could have done a ton of really fun things. Oh well... I think it's just that we're so completely different from them that they don't understand us very well. But I think it's the same the other way around too... Like if we had a Chinese person come and spend random time with our family for Thanksgiving or something like that, maybe they would have just as hard a time? I kinda don't think so though. I think that most Chinese people are just so accustomed to having to live in harsh conditions for so long that they would be able to live anywhere. So I think they would be much better off with us than we are with them in ways of food, comfort, entertainment, etc. We are very grateful to her for thinking of us, and trying to give us an interesting experience, but I think she just doesn't quite understand that we weren't exactly enjoying it. Oh well, it's over.

(Done talking about the trip.)

Anyway, other than that my holiday has been pretty good so far. The trip has really made me want to go back home to the U.S. though... Mom too, we're just saying, "Okay, enough of China, we can go home now!". Haha... It's alright though, now that we're back in Suzhou we can do what we want and eat food we like and be comfortable again, so maybe we won't be as tired of being in China... At least I hope so. Another thing that made me a little sad about the trip is that I couldn't go roller skating on Saturday! So sad... Hopefully I can go this Saturday. :)

Oh, I discovered this really funny Taiwanese drama on YouTube called Hana Kimi. It's so cute, and really crazy and silly! I hope that maybe I'll be able to find the show on DVD with English subtitles somewhere, though I don't know if I'll be able to... Mom likes it too, hahaha... I was watching it and she came into the room and got hooked as well. It was really funny. :D

So that's what's been happening lately.  I was pretty much just hanging out for the first week of the holiday, and then Saturday through today (Tuesday) I was kidnapped and tortured.  Hahaha, alright, not quite, but close enough.  The rest of the holiday will probably be spent hanging around with mom, since she's off work now, and probably doing a bunch of homework...at some point...  Oh, and hopefully roller skating.  That's all for now, maybe I'll complain about the trip and/or contemplate the gigantic cultural differences between us and the Chinese.  Fun, huh? ;P

Alright, so I've got a blog account with this random Taiwanese site and I've been posting fairly often there, just about everyday-ish stuff.  So I figured I'd fill you guys in, even if you don't really understand what I'm talking about.  So I'm just gonna post the entries that I post there on Xanga.  Enjoy!

"No more school for two weeks!  China's so awesome 'cause we get tons of time off when we wouldn't at home.  Like right now for example we have two weeks off for Chinese New Year/Spring Festival.  Sweet!  I'm lovin' it.  Well, in all reality it'll be pretty boring cause everyone's leaving me, but 'til that happens it'll be so awesome.  Now we can go out more than just on Fridays!  Haha, it'll be cool for other reasons too of course, the main one being I don't have to go to evil school for a while.  Speaking of which, I actually managed to pass all of my classes except Biology!  I'm pretty psyched, cause I thought for sure I'd fail more than that like Math, Bio, History, and Chinese.  But I only failed Bio!  Yay!  (Hahaha, any Asians reading this would probably be appalled...)  Whatever, I'm happy with my grades, and I'll hopefully be pulling them up this semester.  :)

The usual is planned for the weekend; going out tonight, probably to Houston and Scarlet, and roller skating on Saturday.  Though now that school's out, we've got plans extending past the weekend.  We're gonna go shopping on Monday, and probably go out again Monday night.  Possibly more random roller skating, etc. 'til everyone leaves me.  Maybe I can still go out with Eliza, we'll see...  Anyway, I'm pretty excited.  :)  I'm also hyper and bored...  Rawr...  I really feel like partying, can't wait 'til tonight!"  (Probably doesn't help that I'm listening to Black Eyed Peas...)"
